Please Note: due to the current restrictions and limited facilities within our centres the Pathway GP referral programme is currently suspended until further notice. We are unable to accept new referrals at this time. Please keep checking our website for further updates.

If you are looking to improve your lifestyle and wish to have that little bit of support and encouragement to help you succeed, we have a number of programmes on offer.

In addition, we work with health professionals and doctors surgeries across Reading to refer patients with existing health conditions to supervised activities at our centres. 

Pathway Exercise Referral Scheme

This programme is for people with specific medical conditions such as Obesity, Cardiovascular disease, Asthma, Diabetes, Depression and Stress, Arthritis, COPD, Stroke, MS who require a referral from their doctor to take part in supervised activities.

The choice of activities includes health walks, cycling, circuit training, chair based exercises and aqua mobility. Please note: There are charges for activities within this programme.

Please note: To access the Pathway Programme, referrals must must be aged 16 years and over and be a Reading Borough Council resident.

Pathway to Health Drop In Classes

Do you have a long term health or medical condition, and would like to become more active? If so, then come along to our new Pathway to Health Drop In classes, at Meadway Sports Centre and Palmer Park Sports Stadium.

Our classes give you the support and encouragement that you need to improve your lifestyle, with our qualified coach on hand to ensure you progress at your own pace and ability.

N.B. A referral from your GP may be required for some medical conditions before you access these classes.

Phase IV Cardiac Rehabilitation

These sessions follow on from a hospital based physical activity rehab programme, and are specifically for people with Coronary Heart Disease, who are recovering from a heart attack or heart surgery.
